After two pregnancies, one of which was twins, I began suffering mild back pain in my early 20's. Over the following 15 years that pain gradually kept increasing until this past year, after another pregnancy, it became unbearable. The pain was beginning to interfere with my life. I was no longer confident carrying my youngest child down a flight of stairs and I was having difficulty sitting on the floor to play with her. Over the counter pain relievers were no longer providing any relief, and it was this pain that brought me to Dr. Genovese. Within the first few visits I began to feel relief from the pain that had plauged me for years. Before I began treatment, I would have to reach down to pull my leg up in order to put shoes on in the morning. As a 36 year old woman, I felt that was unacceptable. By the end of my first week, I could raise my own leg without any pain or tension in my back. After a month of treatment, I am no longer experiencing the excruciating pain that I was convinced would be with me forever. In fact, I recently spent two days gardening and mulching--activities that I previously could not enjoy due to the pain I used to suffer.

In addition to having increased mobility and my pain levels being greatly reduced , I was surprised by the other benefits I have experienced while under Dr. Tom's care. Since beginning at the FHCC, I no longer suffer from allergy related nasal congestion, I am sleeping longer and deeper at night and my energy levels have significantly increased. In general, I have seen overall improvement to my health since beginning chiropractic care under Dr. Tom.

Dr. Genovese has taken time to educate me on the benefits of chiropractic care and to answer any questions that I've had. He has also taken time to discuss his plan of treatment with my husband and make sure that he too had all his questions answered.

The Family Healthcare Chiropractic Center is a warm welcoming place. My daughter gladly toddles along with me to appointments and the staff dotes on her. She too, along with her sisters, are now patients of Dr. Genovese. This practice is truly family centered, and Dr. Tom and his staff are both professional and caring.

My daughter had her first double ear infection when she turned a year old. Over the next three months, she had three double ear infections and was on antibiotics a total of 48 days. The antibiotics were very hard on her digestive system and she suffered many gastrointestinal side effects. When she was diagnosed with her fourth double ear infection, I brought her to Dr. Tom. When she presented to him on that first day, she had a fever, was irritable and was pulling on both her ears. She was adjusted once that morning and again that afternoon. By that evening, her fever was gone and she (and I) enjoyed a very restful night. The next morning her energy had returned and she was fever free.

In the few short weeks since beginning chiropractic care for my daughter, I have seen such wonderful results. In addition to the relief from her ear infections, she is sleeping better at night and her overall disposition is sunnier.

Dr. Genovese and his staff have taken time to build a relationship with my daughter and myself. The welcoming atmosphere in his office immediately gives her a sense of security. Dr. Genovese is extremely gentle with my daughter and she has come to trust him in a very short amount of time. After having just a few adjustments while lying in my arms, she now gets on the table herself and is adjusted like a big girl. She enjoys her adjustments so much that playing chiropractor at home is her new favorite game!

For the last 15 years I’ve experienced chronic back pain as well as other seemingly unrelated symptoms such as tingling, cold fingers, cold body, frequent urination and dry throat (which was especially difficult as a voice teacher). I had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 3 years ago after undergoing a battery of tests for the above symptoms. After the tests my doctor told me my blood, hormones, EKG and stress test came out like those of a 27 year old (I was 40). I had been doing a lot of exercise for relief of the cold hands and feet with no results. I tried massage and muscle therapy and regular physical therapy with little change. Also, I took many muscle relaxers but they did not help.

I found out about Dr. Genovese and the Family Healthcare Chiropractic Center through a coupon flyer that I received in the mail.

Since starting chiropractic care most of my symptoms are gone. After my first chiropractic adjustment I experienced relief from cold limbs, headaches, frequent urination and dry throat. Also, I am sleeping much better and the aches and pains in my back and neck have disappeared. All this after just 2 weeks of chiropractic care. I am very pleased.

I was in a train wreck 12 years ago and had sciatica before that. I have Restless Leg Syndrome and it was a pleasant discovery to find that chiropractic care, among other things, solved that creepy crawling leg problem and let me sleep through the night again. This, despite my medical doctor saying that nothing could be done.

I lifted an air conditioner and had serious back pain which was treated by my physician with bed rest and pain killers. Three weeks later I was no better and called to cancel my dentist appointment because I could not sit. He convinced me to come in anyway and after watching me walk into his waiting room he made me an appointment with his chiropractor. After the second adjustment I felt better.

I know it works. After treatment by conventional methods, after being in a train wreck, chiropractic is the reason I walk without a limb and have the use of my right arm back (It was cold and numb for two years). I still have neck problems and headaches and the ? occasionally gives me ? ? problems but chiropractic visits on a regular basis helps. I will always have some pain but with regular care it doesn’t ruin my life.

Back pain had been something I lived with off and on over the last five years, but began to impact me as I started to work around my new house this past summer (2001). This included installing an irrigation system, building a deck, etc. No matter how much I stretched beforehand or ensured movements were performed safely (bending at the knees), I would always have back pain in my entire back later that evening and into the next morning. I had trouble getting out of bed some mornings due to the pain. Headaches and colds were also a frequent problem. Headaches occurred more than twice a week, and I could expect to get at least three colds over the winter months.

I have been under care for over three months and haven't felt this good in a long time (years). I sleep through the night now and have undertaken some new projects at home. The latest one required me to be on my feet for about 12 hours a day over a weekend. The pain I experienced following this type of work was non‑existent. Not only on Sunday, but I also felt great on Monday. Additionally, my headaches have virtually disappeared, and I had one cold early in the season that went away in a matter of days.

I continue my care, and would recommend chiropractic adjustments to anyone.

Thank you for the donation for my sister and her family. When I tell people you came out and donated, they can’t believe a Doctor would take a patient so personal. It is refreshing and uplifting. Your practice is unusual, even for a chiropractor. Coming in to your office is one of the highlights of my day. You have done more for my pain and attitude than any other doctor-no matter how specialized. You have a very strong spirit and it is well supported by your sister and your beautiful wife. The fact that you adjust my children shows my faith and trust. When you suggested it on my first visit, I wasn’t ready. I am very picky about anyone who treats them. It only took a few visits for me to feel comfortable with bringing them for treatment. The hardest part is getting them to understand they aren’t going because they are sick, but so they won’t be sick.

I began seeing a chiropractor 17 years ago because I had severe lower back pain due to scoliosis. I have been on maintenance care now for a good part of these 17 years but have had to switch chiropractors several times because my husband is in the Marine Corps. When we moved to Stafford, I wasn’t very happy with the service the chiropractors already in the area provided. My health began to deteriorate and headaches, jaw pain, low back pain, fatigue, poor eye sight, etc. began to resurface.

After a year of unsatisfactory chiropractic care here in Stafford, I received the advertisement with the coupon and felt I had nothing to lose by giving Dr. Tom a chance. It turns out it was the best $27.00 I’ve spent recently.

Since switching to Dr. Tom three months ago I feel like a new person. I am so grateful Dr. Tom decided to open his clinic in Stafford. Had he not, I believe my health would still be on the decline and I would still be on the decline and I would be missing out on life. I have had six different chiropractors and Dr. Tom ranks right up there at the top. It is refreshing to find a chiropractor who actually is concerned about my health and not just a chiropractor to make money at whatever cost to the patient. Years ago, I was injured as a result of a motorcycle accident and before that I had been in two car accidents. I also hurt my back while on the job as a truck rental agent. These injuries resulted in constant pain and sleeplessness.

I first heard of Dr. Tom from Julie Smoot of Ads America. I was immediately interested in going to see him, but was concerned about cost and our insurance was not in place as we were new the job.

So, after suffering needlessly for 3 more months, I finally went to see him. He explained about the way he charges and I realized it was quite affordable for completing my treatment plan.

After seeing Dr. Tom for three months now, I have less pain consistently than I have had for at least three years. I had nearly constant pain in my right hand that was so severe at times (usually at night) that it felt as if my hand were in a furnace. It was such searing pain I thought I would lose my mind. My husband would awaken in the night to find me sitting on the floor crying from the intensity of the pain. I also suffered with every step from pain in my right hip and knee. I love to ride on our motorcycle with my husband, but he said, “We should sell the bike, because you have so much trouble riding with the pain.”

I didn’t agree to sell our bike, because I was improving since seeing Dr. Tom. Boy, am I ever glad that we didn’t sell it. This year we went on the “Rolling Thunder Ride to the Wall” and it was one of the things we had wanted to do before we got “too old”. It was an amazing experience, and best of all; I was not in pain for the entire time. I was wet from rain and my seat was sore from sitting on the bike so long, but I was not suffering from the pain of the past.

I believe that continuing my adjustments will result in longer periods of being pain free. I am committed to the principles of chiropractic because it is safe, drug free and non-invasive. Medical doctors only addressed my pain with pain medications, which made me ill with side effects. There were no medical causes for my pain, only spinal subluxations. The traditional American medical community does not have an answer for addressing the root cause of pain from subluxations. Chiropractic is the only way to go!

I am a 36 year old white female that has suffered with chronic low back pain, numerous herniated discs, and osteo- arthritis in the hips and hip joints for over a decade. Since my early 20’s, due to related traumas in my teens, and 13 years in numerous weight bearing physical activities and the required USMC method of abdominal sit-ups greatly contributed to the continued erosion of my condition. These were activities performed regularly, daily, or weekly, to maintain top physical condition.

I also have three children. During each of my three pregnancies I experienced tremendous back pain during the final trimester. This was mainly due to the weight and pressure of the baby on my spine and hips where injuries already existed. After the first two deliveries recovery was quick, aided by a chiropractor. But after the third pregnancy, recovery has been very slow. She is now four.

I am also prone to allergy related sinus infections and bronchitis during the fall months. Two years ago, after training for and completing the Marine Corps Marathon, November 2000, I developed a severe case of bronchitis that resulted in pneumonia. I was treated with one antibiotic after another, but the months dragged on with no complete recovery. After about 8 months of this condition of fatigue, muscle aches, sheer exhaustion, my medical physicians diagnosed me with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. They stated that there was nothing I could do about it except to try to eat right, get exercise, and keep busy. But, there in lies the problem. I could not exercise due to too much pain and weakness. I couldn’t eat right. I was always so depleted of energy. I tried to compensate by feeding myself more fuel. All that I could do was sleep.

Almost a year ago I decided to see the assistance of a Chiropractor again. This time I was not only seeking help for my back pain that wouldn’t allow me to exercise, but also the other conditions. It has been nearly eight months now and nearly all signs of the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are gone. I am exercising again and my weight has dropped 20 pounds because I do not have to feed the lack of energy bug anymore. Although I still have issues with my lower back pain, chiropractic at Family Healthcare Chiropractic has significantly increased my daily abilities merely because my energy is back. I have completed a Master’s Degree and once again have professional pursuits. This I couldn’t not have done, if I was in the same unhealthy status as prior to coming to Family Healthcare Chiropractic.

Over the past twenty years, thirteen served in the Marine Corps, I have had lower back and neck problems. I have also had issues with allergies most of my life. To combat my back and neck problems I have tried to stay as physically fit as possible. As far as the allergies I have taken over the counter medicine for them, and also received allergy shots for a while. While the shots helped, it was inconvenient to do twice a week to begin with and was also painful. While stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA my cousin, who is a chiropractor, started treating me for neck and back problems I started to incur due to my job.

I feel that chiropractic care is an essential element to my well-being. Without it my allergies get out of control, my headaches return, my sleep suffers, and essentially my overall health goes down hill.

I feel it necessary to state that I was involved in a major helicopter accident in 1997 and prior to that was involved in several minor helicopter mishaps. Due to this, my body has taken a little more abuse than the average individual. I can say for a fact that constant chiropractic care over the past twenty years has allowed me to live a more pain free life.
